We are approaching the final phase of revising the HRC Guidelines! Click here to download the latest (and hopefully last) set of draft guidelines for review. Supporting documents are also available at Appendices and Flow Chart.
Please also take a little time to look through this latest round of revisions. They reflect input from the January MNA meeting. Most of changes involved consistency of terminology. There may still be some areas of disagreement. This document highlights all changes/deletions so comparison should be easier.
There are still a few outstanding issues that have not been addressed:
- the term “inconspicuously located” has cropped up (possibly as a replacement for “viewed from the public right of way”? Also the term “reasonable use”.
- Montford had indicated that we wanted to deal with windows on the front façade differently than those on the sides and back
- The need for CA’s and Minor Works need to be shown in the text next to the section that talks about it. Make it stand out and very obvious.
- Picket Fences: Montford indicated it wanted to allow them and NOT as a major work. This is not even mentioned in the text, only in the matrix of the document
PLEASE NOTE: We are not planning to hold any more public MNA meetings regarding these guidelines. There will be one final opportunity to voice opinions/concerns at the regular HRC meeting on April 14, 2010, 4:00 PM (First Floor North Conference Room, City Hall Building)
Please post any discussion on Montford List Serve AND forward comments directly to: Stacy Merten, Director, HRC at smerten@ashevillenc.gov
DEADLINE IS MARCH 15th TO SUBMIT COMMENTS.
