Street Closings for the Montford Festival

To make the festival safer, provide more booth space, and give everybody more elbow room, more streets need to close this year. Montford Avenue will close to vehicle traffic from Cullowhee all the way down to West Waneta. East Waneta and Soco Streets will also be closed. These streets will close at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, and reopen by 8:00 that evening.  Click here to see a map of the festival street closings.

We ask that your remove any vehicles parked on the street no later than 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, to give us time to set up spaces for the food vendors and artists and the stage for the musicians.

No driveways will be blocked in the event of an emergency. All streets will reopen by 8:00 p.m.

Now We Need YOUR Help

Our festival is in its seventh year, and as with almost everything tied to the economy, we’re struggling. Please consider making a last-minute donation to support the Montford Music and Arts Festival.

As you may have noticed in years past, we’ve been thankful for several individual donors who live in Montford. Please join neighbor Brian May in supporting this year’s festival. Whatever you can give will definitely be appreciated, and you can say you helped make the festival what it was with your monetary contribution. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

You can pay[on this site] via PayPal (right column, fourth box down) or mail a check directly to MNA Treasurer Wanda Newman, 28 Soco Street, Asheville, NC 28801. We’ll be happy to recognize you in the June-July newsletter as helping make MontfordFest happen, so please let us hear from you.
