Montford Artist Kevin Hogan to Host Studio Tour on Saturday, July 31st

It’s time again to delve into the world of Kevin Hogan and see what he’s been up to in the studio! Join Kevin this Saturday, July 31st from 3:00 till 8:00 at 273 Pearson Dr. in Montford.

Kevin and his wife Jo moved to Asheville NC in 1979. They lived on an old tobacco farm for seven years before settling in the Montford district of Asheville. During his time in North Carolina Kevin has shown in every major institution in the state. At the Mint Museum he has had a solo exhibition and been part of group shows. He has shown in Germany, France and Italy, and is represented in the collections of the Federal Reserve, The Michner Collection, The Asheville Art Museum, The Tuscon Museum of Art, the Hearst Corporation, and Neiman Marcus among many others. He is presently represented in Charlotte by CTE Gallery.

In The mid 80’s Kevin began working with Porge Buck at The Intaglio Relief Society in Asheville making intaglio and relief prints. He continued his exploration of prints with Tom Little at Brand X Editions in NY, Shiela Marbain at Maurel studios also in NY and Tony Bradley at Sotto Editions in Asheville. He continues to include printmaking as part of his practice.

Kevin co-founded Square Zero, the first arts apace in Asheville’s downtown arts district and Asheville Working Press, the second arts space in Asheville’s River District. He has been awarded a fellowship from the North Carolina Arts Council, a La Napoule residency and a residency at the McColl Center for Visual Art.

Kevin has taught at Penland School of Crafts, and Western Carolina University and lectured at Kent State, The Cleveland Institute of Art among others. He is currently engaged by the Innovation Institute at The McColl Center in Charlotte.

Kevin’s work has been seen recently in “Polychromatic Contemplations” at CTE Gallery in Charlotte and the survey exhibition of contemporary art in Western North Carolina, “Make it New” at the Asheville Art Museum, as well as a one person exhibition at Brevard College; in addition to “New Geometry” at the Bloomfield Center for Art, Birmingham, Michigan.
