Recycle bags and e-waste at Greenlife gravel lot, Tuesday Nov 15th

Asheville GreenWorks and Greenlife are hosting a recycling day tomorrow (November 15th, 2011) from 10am-4pm in the gravel lot at Greenlife (Wholefoods gravel lot on Marcellus St off of Merrimon Ave). The Isaac Dickson Green Team will be collecting e-waste at the event.

Here is the list of items to be recycled, and the groups that are responsible for sending it where it can be best utilized or responsibly disposed of:

  • Bulky Hard Plastics (lawn furniture, toys, buckets, flower pots, bins, etc.) - Recycling by Curbside Management
  • Book Exchange - Reuse by Greenlife Grocery
  • Electronics - Recycling by EcycleUS.com and Isaac Dickson GreenTeam
    ($5 suggested donation disposal fee on TV’s & CRT monitors)
    Rechargeable batteries, computer disks, audio & video tapes, Small appliances Computer monitors, Desktop and laptop Computers, Computer Cables, Servers, Printers, Scanners, Speakers, Mice, Keyboards, Networking Equipment, Audio/Video Equipment, Batteries and UPS Systems, Cell Phones, PDA’s
  • Unusable clothing/fabric (clean; NO quilted) - ABCCM recycling fundraiser
  • Comforters, blankets, towels (clean, WASHABLE; for animal care) Stuffed animals, except those stuffed w/pellets (12” maximum size) - Reuse by Brother Wolf Animal Rescue
  • Printer (laser, inkjet) & fax cartridges - Owen High School fundraiser
  • Eyeglasses, hearing aids - Marjorie McCune Memorial Center (Assisted and Independent Living)/Lions Club
